Tamworth
A six-bay ultra-rapid EV charging hub located alongside Aldi Supermarket in Tamworth — developed in collaboration with Allego, Rock Power and Aldi.
About this site
The Tamworth hub will be located alongside Aldi in Staffordshire, creating a convenient destination for drivers seeking fast, reliable ultra-rapid charging. The site benefits from consistent daily footfall, naturally aligning with the typical dwell time associated with ultra-rapid charging.
Moreco secured the site in Q4 2025. Grid capacity of 500 kVA has been secured, and an 11 kV cable route has been designed in coordination with Aldi to ensure construction can proceed without disrupting store operations. The hub will feature six Alpitronic HYC200 bays, delivered with Allego as operator and Rock Power as infrastructure partner.

Why this site works
- Proven retail dwell — an active Aldi car park gives consistent 20–40 minute dwell times aligned with ultra-rapid charging.
- Operationally sensitive delivery — the build has been structured to avoid disruption to Aldi's daily trading.
- 500 kVA secured — ultra-rapid provision achieved within a constrained urban retail setting via an 11 kV cable route coordinated with Aldi.
- Strong delivery team — Allego (operator) and Rock Power (infrastructure) working in close alignment with Moreco.
How Moreco is delivering it
Moreco identified and acquired the site in Q4 2025, then worked directly with Aldi to design an 11 kV cable route through the verge of the store. This approach enables infrastructure delivery without restricting access to the car park — a critical requirement for a live-site development. The scheme is being delivered in collaboration with Allego and Rock Power, who are aligned on construction, energisation and operator integration.
