Cross Hands
A live ultra-rapid EV charging hub — a 10-bay
Alpitronic 300 kW site operated by E.ON Drive Infrastructure,
directly off the A48 in Carmarthenshire.
About this site
Cross Hands is a 10-bay ultra-rapid EV charging hub at Maes Yr Eithin Retail Park in Carmarthenshire, South Wales. Strategically positioned directly off the A48, alongside Aldi, Lidl, a Costa drive-thru, and a parade of food outlets, the site offers drivers a convenient and well-served stopover.
As principal developer, Moreco originated the scheme — securing the land, progressing planning and grid, and delivering the hub through to energisation in collaboration with strategic partners. It is operated by Edri, a partner company of E.ON Energy, and remains part of Moreco's portfolio.
Delivery at a glance
- 12 months from site identification to energisation

How Moreco delivered it
Moreco acted as the Principal Developer, identifying the site as underutilised retail land with strong dwell-time indicators from the existing Aldi, Lidl and Costa tenants. The team worked through a planning appeal, arranged the DNO grid connection, coordinated the ICP and civils contractors, and led the full M&E programme — delivering a strategically important solution for E.ON Energy and closing a critical network gap.
From concept to charge, the scheme was delivered in 12 months — with the on-site build programme completed in 12 weeks. The site was energised and handed to E.ON Drive Infrastructure under a long-term lease. The asset remains part of Moreco's portfolio.
