Dudley
An ultra-rapid EV charging hub in the West Midlands, developed by Moreco & operated by Allego, conveniently located off the A4123, providing easy access for drivers travelling through the Dudley and Wolverhampton corridor.
About this site
The Dudley hub sits on Ivyhouse Lane in Coseley, in the West Midlands. It is located next to an established BP petrol station, a car wash, and a large public car park, in an area with steady through-traffic, dense surrounding residential streets, and limited access to home charging.
Moreco worked closely with its main contractor to progress planning, grid connection, and construction. The site was built and delivered on behalf of Allego, a leading pan-European charge point operator. The hub is now open and operational, contributing to ultra-rapid charging provision in the West Midlands.

Why this site works
- Dense residential catchment — tightly urbanised streets where most homes lack off-street parking, so public
rapid charging is a genuine community utility. - Adjacent BP & car wash — established forecourt activity signals strong localised traffic and dwell behaviour.
- Large public car park — sustained 20-40 minute dwell time is the ideal window for ultra-rapid charging.
- West Midlands EV gap — the Black Country is significantly underprovided with public ultra-rapid charging.
How Moreco delivered it
Moreco led the full development lifecycle in-house — site identification, acquisition, planning (refused
at first, then overturned on appeal), DNO connection and civils with Amplify, charger installation,
and operator handover to Allego. Energisation was achieved just 12 weeks after breaking ground,
turning an underutilised car park into a working piece of the UK's ultra-rapid charging network.
